Department for Asylum and Migration Policy

Department for Asylum and Migration Policy (DAMP) is a division of the Ministry of Interior. It operates in the area of international protection, the entry and residence of foreigners, integration policy, the state integration program and Schengen cooperation. The Refugee Facility Administration belong to the Department of Asylum and Migration Policy.

The Ministry of Interior have offices of the Department of Asylum and Migration Policy, Asylum facilities and Detention facilities (offices of the International protection unit of DAMP).

The Department for Asylum and Migration Policy offices provide: extension of the permitted period of stay on the long-term visa, long-term residence permit or its extension, permanent residence permit, certificate of temporary residence (EU citizens), temporary residence permit for the family member of an EU citizen or the extension of a residence card, change of the place of residence in the Czech Republic or other changes related to residence, confirmation of residence. The international protection division of the Department of Asylum and Migration Policy is responsible for administrative proceedings for granting or rejecting international protection, subsidiary protection and temporary protection, issue decisions as to possible stays or reprieves in the enforcement of deportation cases, and guarantee the application of Convention Related to the Status of Stateless Persons.
